Find Help

The motto of Emmanuel Baptist Church is “Bless God, Bless Others, Be the Blessing”.  If we as a church are going to live out this motto, we need to find ways to help others. To “Be the Blessing”.  Right now our local church has three in-house ministries to do just that.
In addition to these wonderful opportunities to be helped and to help others, we are partnering with these other ministries in our community.

Addictions Recovery

A saying that you will hear a lot at Emmanuel is this “we are all broken people, from the
pulpit to the pew, none of us has come into this world unscathed”. The reason we emphasize this is
that far too many people forget where they came from, or candy-coat where they are. The Bible teaches us that every single human being is born with certain bends in their nature toward things that are harmful to ourselves and to others. When we act on these bends in our nature, we sin. ALL OF US. So sin defined is anything that harms us or others. When we read in the Bible the “Thou Shalt Nots, and the Thou Shalts” we are really seeing God’s compassion toward His creation. He knows that following the brokenness in our human nature will harm us and others and so has given us guidelines to bring us back. The truth is, anything can be harmful if it isn’t used well. Food, drugs, sex are no exception.
They way we choose to combat this is with a faith based, Christ-centered addictions program that directs the addicted back to God’s support group – the local church.  We are aware that there are times when a person may become so chemically or emotionally dependant, that this person may need to be referred out to a more intensive or an alternative program. We believe that just as with good doctors, God uses good counsellors as well.
We meet each Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church where stories of victory are shared, groups and individuals are personally counseled from God’s Word, and lessons are taught on overcoming temptation.

Nurseries and programs for children through sixth grade allow us to minister to the entire family.

In our Addictions Recovery Program you will find a complete curriculum of workbooks, study guides, CD’s/tapes and much more, available to help you develop a personal walk with God.

It is in response to these words of our Lord that we operate the Giving Hands Food Pantry  a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church where we hope to show the love of Jesus in a measurable way. When Jesus walked this earth we saw Him feed people both physically and spiritually. He is our model and this is our expression of that. In order to find the help you need through our pantry, there are few things you will need to know and follow:
  • The third Wednesday approximately 5:00pm-7:00pm (before our Prayer and Praise Service).
  • The first and third Thursday 9:00am – 11:00am
  • We service clients that reside in the HOOKSETT, BOW, CANDIA, ALLENSTOWN, PEMBROKE, AUBURN areas. If you are a MANCHESTER resident please use one of the many Manchester pantries available, follow this LINK.
  • A completed application- available at the pantry. (requires proof of residency for each family member)
  • A short interview regarding your needs with one of our pantry case workers.
  • Bring a bag or box to put your food into.
  • One visit to the pantry per month.
